Jono Hermann- Chairman
I consider myself a devotee of the Australian startup & innovation scene, especially supporting efforts to network members of this ecosystem on Sydney’s north shore.
My key ‘hats’ are Chair of Squirrel Street, formerly Shoeboxed Australia and Chair of North Sydney Innovation Network, but also passionate about family office issues (family dynamics, philanthropy and the move by younger generations into higher risk assets).
Aside from direct investments in Sydney startups and Sydney-based VC, I also invest in Israel and support efforts to engender closer ties between the tech (investment) communities of Australia & Israel.
Shireen Bernstein- Partnerships Manager
I am currently completing my doctorate degree at Macquarie University with a focus in developmental psychology and media. I have been working at NSIN for the last two years and it has been such a joy. I am able to see the direct impact we have within North Sydney. Whether we are promoting STEM education in local schools or laying the groundwork for city councils to jump into the new generation of smart cities, NSIN is working around the clock to make positive leaps for the future of innovation and technology.
Vincent Asta- Marketing Intern
I am a current junior at Boston University, however I am studying in Sydney for the semester. I am majoring in business administration with concentrations in marketing and strategy. Prior to my NSIN internship, I was able to intern at a number of different businesses, ranging from a political campaign consulting company to a sales agency. NSIN, however, has been a completely different experience. NSIN works tirelessly to promote the North Shore as a hub for innovation and startups. It is great to work for an organization that aligns with my own personal values and goals.
Jackie Goodwin- Marketing Intern
Currently, I am in my third year at Boston University. My experience includes 4 years in the United States Navy where I was able to experience world-class innovation and technology. Interning at NSIN means being a part of the bigger picture in technology and STEM education. The commitment NSIN has to promoting start-ups and STEM education is one core value that I find important to the future of technology driven businesses.
Charlene Hu– Consultant
I have had a few years working experience in the financial industry in Sydney. Promoting innovation and helping tech startups bring ideas to real life is the main business of NSIN, which is totally in line with my values and passion. Working at NSIN not only means meeting serious entrepreneurs, investors, and governors, but also equates to getting to know some really interesting people. This is one of the best places you can be!
