This paper examines opportunities that governments and the community may derive from enhanced access to vehicle-generated data. The paper considers the costs, benefits, issues and barriers of access. The paper identifies three problems that need to be addressed to achieve access to and use of vehicle-generated data and proposes a range of options to address these problems.
